She was grabbing a jar the moment she walked into the corridor of the dungeon, her favorite place to end her boring day and her steps halted when she saw guards carried a bed with a person covered with a bedsheet.
She stood in front of them and the guards to see her stopped. She drifted closer and pulled the sheet to see the person obvious died.
She saw an old man, eyes closed and his weak skin lost all its color turning white. Looking at him she remembered the old man as one of the prisoners who liked her visits cause she brought him liquor. She remembered him saying
"Be my apprentice"
"I already know everything, what will you teach me?"
"Nothing. Just having an apprentice before I die is enough"
"Old man If you except for me to feel pity you got the wrong person. So don't tell me you're going to die"
She glanced at the old man's hands to find he hugged a small book on his chest so tightly.
Seeing the small book having a lot of pages on his arm, she recalled him telling her
"If you accept our master and student relationship, I will give you this as a gift" he showed her the book he held
"I have countless books and if I wanted that in your hand wouldn't be trouble to me"
"This isn't an ordinary book. I carried for my whole life and never wished anyone to read it. Now that I want to give it to you..." he coughed "Should be honored"
Radella moved her hand to the book and inwardly said 'You said yourself this is my gift so am taking it'
Without any trouble, she pulled the book and held in her arms.
Guards' eyes widened with disbelief. They tried every spell they knew to take the book from him to no avail. But the princess without doing anything took the book.
"Give him a proper burial"
"Yes princess"
Only after the guards left, other guards got in dragging another prisoner to bring him to the cell. She was about her age, tied with chains to both hands and feet. His long auburn hair was messy enough to cover his face. She never saw any prisoner tied like that so she was little surprised and asked.
"What he has done?"
"He is... a werewolf who sneaked into our territory"
Her brow raised with surprise "A werewolf?"
"Yes princess"
She never saw a werewolf, telling her the identity of the man she was a too surprised. She stepped aside and let them drag him away.
Later on, Radella was in her room staring at the book from the old man. What left her speechless was the fact the book had an unfamiliar language.
She went to the library and picked a book she thought resembled that strange language, only to be disappointed because nothing was alike.
She spent a lot of time but no matter what weren't any book as such what she possessed.
She returned to her room and lay on the bed racing her mind on what kind of book could be enough to hide its contents in mysterious characters.
"Shall I ask Grandpa?"
The idea disappeared instantly due to the owner of the book belonged to the dark witch clan.
She stared at the cover and opened the random page, when her eyes landed on those characters strange she could read them.
Was like the language had never been unfamiliar to her. what was that? She rose to sit and watched closer to make sure she wasn't dreaming and indeed she could read them. Not like the characters changed but she understood them.
'What the hell is this book?'
Reading the book she understood was a spell book, and many lessons about magic.
She watched the book with amazement. What could she want more than that? She smiled and then failed to control her laugh. She laughed loudly with the thought the only problem sucked her life came to an end.
"Ha hahaha hahahah"
Days went by, and she kept practicing. When she mispronounced she got in trouble but still was joyful.
She already tested on witches and today's night she planned to test on different species and her thoughts went to the wolf in the dungeon. He was about to be executed anyway.
With that thought she visited the dungeon to the room where he was locked. She stepped with a slow pace because she never been close to a werewolf before.
He found him tied with chains and his hair covered his lowered face. He seemed too fragile to be a wolf.
He raised his head and gave Radella a sharp glare with his brown eyes. Little startled she stepped back. She watched the man carefully.
She wished to see how werewolf looked like and to her surprise he seemed more human. But the Chief never arrested a werewolf to lock them in the dungeon especially if Darius saw them. He was a man who would kill them without a second thought.
"I wanted to confirm and see with my own eyes how Werewolf is and now I know you are somehow beautiful. I wonder if all werewolves out there beautiful as you" She said as she looked for a spot to seat
"..can you also shift into a big wolf like what they say in the books?"
However the wolf returned his head to the previous position ignoring her completely.it didn't matter because she wasn't here to interrogate him but to find how spells worked on werewolves.
'I'm going to explore your memories. If I could master this perfect, will save trouble to get answers from anyone' She thought to herself as she read the words in the book.
She inhaled and exhaled deeply, she closed her eyes and with a calm mind, she uttered a word.
She slowly opened her eyes, expected to scour into someone's else memories and that person a werewolf. Sunlight shone brightly targeting her eyes.
She frowned and rose her hand to block the light. She was about to get out the bed before her eyes rolled by chance around the room. something was not right.
She scanned the room carefully. She was sure not a dream but was a strange room, nothing clicked in her mind.
'where am I?!' She recalled a last moment before here, she was inside a dungeon reading a werewolf and only after she read a spell.... yeah right must be his memories.
She got out the flat mattress and roamed her eyes everywhere. She saw a brick wall. Her eyes enlarged than ever when she realized she was inside an unfamiliar dungeon.
'You are not Elise!!' the scolding voice echoed in her ears
She turned her head searching for a person who shouted. The voice was closer to her but in the room wasn't anyone than herself.
'why it's you?!' the voice asked 'Where is Elise?!'
She closed her eyes to refrain her anger from whoever tried to play with her. 'You evil witch why are you inside Elise's body?!'
She staggered to the door to find a person who have got the guts to play with her. She really wanted to kill someone.
"What is that!" she asked herself as her eyes went outside through the metal gate.
Not only in the room but also outside, everything strange. She has never been to such place before, what exactly was going on? Through the gate, saw unfamiliar people.
'Elise has never done anything wrong to you, why you did this to her? If you have her body then where is she?!"
"Is this the price of using dark spells? how the spell works?"
'What have you done to yourself Radella? Why I feel this isn't his memories but something happening now'
'Bring everything the way it was!'
"Ugh the damn voice again!"
'Only Elise can see me. I am her wolf' said the voice
The word 'her wolf' repeated in her mind. "Her wolf?" She recalled what she learned in the books. Every werewolf had its own wolf and weren't inseparable as a one body. She scoffed "her wolf hah? Whose wolf? And what do you want? you damn wolf I want to see you now"
She thought was a time to use what she learnt from the spell book, she uttered the spell, and only after she did that, found herself middle of the garden with long grasses and beautiful blossom flowers.
She was surprised at what happened because she expected to return in her room in Netha. 'Did you just teleported?!' wolf asked in disbelief
"Yes, isn't a good thing?" she heavily took a breath to feel the freedom.
'A good thing?! I hate witches so don't use magic with this body'
"You are annoying..." she glanced around "where the hell are you?"
Finding no answer she started running to leave so she could find her village. But even before reached so far she teleported back inside the dungeon. She bumped a few things due to was at a full speed.
"What the...!" she asked herself furiously. She has returned involuntarily. She touched a part got hurt hissing with pain. She could feel pain when hurt which gave her the hint, everything was real.
"Why I returned here? Were the powers temporary?" She tried again and again but whenever she teleported she returned to the room. Exhausted she dropped her body on the floor
"Something went wrong. I can't return back. what could be? The book... Damnit! I left it in dungeon"
