The shadows came at us and we, the shifters raised our weapons, the ones Phoebe had castled with spell so it would hurt them, and ran towards them.
We collided with the shadows at the center of the large field.
Some shifters were thrown back at the impact, but many shadows fell victim to the spelled weapons we were holding.
I caught Adal and Harke fighting side by side with large daggers in their hands.
I kept my distance for a few seconds, using my arrows to pick one shadow after the next.
When I started running low on arrows, I ran further in to the field. I plugged out the arrows I'd already used from the ground and used them to shoot at the shadows.
When the shadows started circling around me, I summoned the wind, blowing each one of them away from me and it gave me enough time to aim at them and shoot my arrows.
At first, the ball was in our court. The fight was not as bad as I thought it would be.
The shadows were not as strong as I thought they would be too.
But that was just the beginning.
When the bloodmoon got redder, I saw the pale ghostly figured cursed luna stepping out of the woods with that wolf Mitchel following after her.
The shadows suddenly stopped and disappeared to quickly reaper behind the cursed luna.
"My my, look at all of you." The cursed luna dragged, her voice might have been low but everyone at the field could here her, probably has something to do with magic.
She regarded us with a sick smile on her face.
"Look at you all." She whispered again. "So prepared to defeat me when you don't even know the fact that I can't be defeated. But, I can have all of your powers and your energies for my own. This will be the very beginning for my rise and this time, no one will stand in my way."
She raised her hands up, stretching her arms out at either side of her body.
Right there in front of our eyes, the shadows starting growing. Their figures got wider and taller, making them twice the size that they were before. Their claws became more visible as it too extended longer, wider and sharper.
"Go, my children. Bring me my feast." She screamed and the shadows and they once again started to attack.
This time, they were ten times faster and they didn't give me a chance to reach back for an arrow to shoot at them.
Which means I was left to fight with the daggers I'd strapped against my arrow quiver.
A shadow slashed at my shoulder and I let out a loud hiss before I plugged my dagger in to his figure.
The one advantage about the shadows new update is that they are more visible and can be touched. Which meant that we could fight them in our shifters form.
Diago was the first to shift. His dragon flapped his large winds, blowing some of the shadows away. He didn't breath out his fire though, because if he did, mamy of our shifters will be burned along with the shadows. So he settled to chopping the shadow in half by using his large jaw.
Mr. Be changed next. He tore through the shadows like they were pieces of paper. No matter how large they are, the shadows are a no match to the dragon and the bear.
Their shift caused most of the wolves to shift in to their beasts, including Adalwolf, Harke, my father and Alpha Harmon.
Alpha Light stayed in her human form, savagely killing each shadow that comes her way. I could see her eyes going over to the cursed luna and to Mitchel.
Alpha Light had once told me about the battle that had taken place in the silver fang pack.
The wolf who was attacking them was Alpha Harmon's father, the late Alpha Simon and he had used mitchel to attack her pack.
During that fight, Mitchel had stood by behind Simon as he watched the wolves getting slaughtered.
This was the exact situation for her, only this time, it was the cursed luna instead of Alpha Simon.
I didn't bother to tell Alpha Light to be vigilant though. She had her daughter and her mate in this pack. She wouldn't do anything to risk their lives.
I wanted to stay in my human form for a while but when the Shadows ganged up on me, I had no other choice that to shift to my Lioness and attack them.
My jaw snapped at each of the shadows.
Their numbers were getting smaller and smaller but then I sensed it.
My Lioness was suddenly getting weaker. I looked around and I saw a lot of the wolves slowing down as if they were being drained of their energy.
I glanced at the cursed Luna and I understood what she was doing. She'd forced us to shift so she could take our shifters energy.
"She's stealing your energy." Phoebe's voice came from beside me. "You have to shift back or you might lose your shifters. All of you."
Her comment struck is bad. If we shift back then we will lose this fight. If we stay in our shifters form, then we will lose the fight too.
There was no winning unless we kill the cursed Luna.
"Cast the dome, Phoebe." Alpha Light ordered as she tore a shadow apart. "We need to do this now or we'll never get the chance to do it."
Adal came towards me and shifted back to his human form.
"What dome?" He asked because he doesn't know the secret plan B the five of us set.
"Do it." Alpha Light hissed at Phoebe before she tore her clothes and shifted in to her wolf before she ran towards the cursed luna and Mitchel.
I glanced at Adal once and I almost didn't want to go. But I have to if I want to save him.
Giving him my back, I ran after Alpha Light. Diago and Mr. Beam were right behind me as well.
Abandoning the shadows with our shifters, we ran towards the cursed Luna and Mitchel.
"The wolf is mine." Alpha Light mind linked the three of us when he stepped forward to defend the cursed Luna.
I glanced behind me once and saw that Adal had changed back in to his wolf and was running after us. But as soon as we stepped over the line Phoebe had drawn, a large water dome appeared as she casted her spell to lock us in with the cursed luna and Mitchel.
Adal tried to jump through the dome but it hit him hard, forcing his wolf to bounce back to the floor.
The Barrier worked. Now, all we have to do is finish this, even if it means none of us walk out of here alive.
