“Oh my God, that drive was amazing!” Elsie gushes as we arrive at our destination for dinner, “It is something else, uh? I will never forget the first time I rode in a car like this. It was such an adrenaline rush.” I smile. I fell in love with these types of cars at a young age, but I didn’t get to drive one until I was twenty one.
“It is definitely a rush,” she smiles. I find a parking space because I refuse to let anyone else drive my car, even valets. I climb out, running around to open the door for her, offering her a hand; she takes it, and I help her out.
I close the door, double checking my car is locked. It has an excellent security system, but even still, I like to make sure. I rest my hand on the small of her back, making her shudder and guide us inside. I had brought her to my favourite Thai restaurant.
“Mr Rhodes, welcome back,” the hostess smiles brightly. I return the smile, “Thank you, Zoey.”
The owner Cara soon appears in front of us, greeting me with a hug. I have known Cara a long time, she is a good friend of my mother’s, and we may have had a one night stand a few years ago, information my mother can never find out.
“And who is the gorgeous woman by your side?” she asks, looking at Elsie, “Elise, my date. Elsie, Cara, the owner.” I introduce. They shake hands, saying their hellos before Cara tells us to follow her.
Elsie seems confused as we walk by all of the tables. I chuckle at her reaction, “Where are we going? Why aren’t we sitting with everyone else?” she whispers.
I didn’t answer, and soon enough, we arrived where we would be sitting, “Make yourself comfortable. There is champagne on the table, and someone will be through soon for your orders,” Cara says.
Cara opens the door for us before leaving us alone. I turn my attention to Elise, who is wide-eyed. I had gotten us a private room, they only have two, and they aren’t easy for most people to get, but I am not like most people.
“We are eating in here?” she gasps. It is a beautiful room, with great light and privacy from the rest of the place. I don’t usually book a private room, but tonight is different. I refuse to have my personal life out there for the public, so here, no one will bother us.
“The room is beautiful,” she grins, glancing around. The table is set for two, a vase of roses in the middle and candles too, a bottle of their finest champagne chilling. It gives off a romantic vibe, something I am not sure is a good thing in case Elsie jumps to the wrong conclusion and believes it is more than just a casual date. Unfortunately, it is too late to change things now, so we will need to deal with it.
“Yes. I thought it would be better for us rather than out there. I would rather keep my personal life, well personal,” I say honestly, “I understand.” She smiles.
At least she doesn’t think I am hiding because I am ashamed to be seen with her because it isn’t like that. I pull her chair out, letting her sit first. I can be a gentleman when I need, “Thank you,” she says softly. I nod, sitting across from her, pouring us some champagne, only a small one for me since I need to drive back.
“I guess you are a regular here?” she questions, “Yes. The owner is a good friend of my mother’s.” I won’t share the rest of that story with her.
Elsie takes a sip from her drink, looking around, her smile not leaving her lips, “I have never had dinner in a private room before,” she brings her eyes back to me, “Because you have never met anyone like me before.” I chuckle. She shakes her head, playfully rolling her eyes.
I laugh loudly, “Don’t roll your eyes at me, kitten,” I give her a stern look and, in return, “I will do as I please, Sir.” A hint of a smirk rests on her lips, lips I want to feel on mine again.
“For now, you do…” I tease. I have a way of making women do as I tell them, and no, I don’t mean in an abusing, controlling way. I mean in the bedroom if it’s something my sexual partner and I agree on. I prefer to dominate in the bedroom.
“Meaning?” she asks curiously, cocking her brow at me, “I can’t tell you, not right now, until I see what happens here,” I reply.
Elsie tilts her head slightly, searching my eyes to see if she could get answers, “What happens here?”, “Yes,” I say simply, taking a drink from my glass, not adding to it. She waited patiently for me to continue, but I wasn’t going to.
“You look damn sexy in your dress, kitten,” I say, my voice low. I watch as her entire body language changes. She fidgets in her chair, red rises on her cheeks and darkness fills her eyes. Hmm, it would seem my voice turns her on.
“Thank you…” she trails off, licking her lips. I lift my glass to my lips, taking a drink to hide my sly smile, “Oh, don’t look so blooming smug.” She laughs. I didn’t do a good job of disguising my reaction.
“I didn’t realise how easily I can turn you on, Elise,” I speak with confidence because it is the truth, “What makes you think you turn me on?” she rests back on her hair, crossing her arms over her chest, waiting for my answer.
“I don’t think I know. I could come over there, kiss you, and you will be putty in my hands, sweetness,” I answer firmly, “Sure,” her voice is dripping with sarcasm.
I stare at her, trying to work out if she is serious or trying to coax me, “Sure? You don’t believe me?” she shakes her head, her tongue darting out of her mouth and back in. She is coaxing me; she wants me to do it.
I stand from my seat, ready to go around there, grab her and kiss her to prove my point but before I can even take a step, there is a knock on the door, and a staff member comes in. I groan, glaring at him. The poor guy had no idea what he had done wrong, “Sorry, should I come back?” he asks. I went to tell him yes, but before I could, “No, you are fine. We haven’t looked at the menu yet, but could I please get a gin and tonic,” Elsie asks, “Okay. Would you like anything, Sir?” he stammers nervously in my direction. I shake my head, and he leaves.
Elise giggles and I quickly turn to her, and it is her turn to have a smug look on her face, “You did that on purpose!” I whine, “I don’t know what you mean.” She counters innocently.
I shake my head, “We are nowhere finished, baby girl,” I growl, “If you say so. We should probably look at the menu, so we can give him our orders when he comes back.”
I will get her back for this! She wants to play this game. I can play it too. The night just became way more interesting.
