Abrar was taking a nap out of boredom when Haya came into their room, she has been out all day trying to avoid her stupid husband at any costs by spending time with bi jaan and her mother in law. Luckily for her, they did not pry for anything, even if they knew that something was wrong. She was glad about that.
But Haya was still mad at the fact that he wasted her cake like that.
A bizarre idea struck her mind as she saw him sleep peacefully. With a mischievous smirk, she started walking around the room, near his side of the bed and made sure that her loud jingles of the anklets were heard by him.

"Lalalala..." Haya hummed to herself; some random tune as she waved her hands in the air, imagining herself as a mermaid whilst continuing to walk loudly. Abrar woke up at once with a jerk but was left speechless as he saw the craziness in front of him.
"What in the world?' he rubbed his eyes twice. But Haya was still here continuing to wave her hands, doing whatever she was doing. She was so lost in her own world that she did not even notice him waking up.
"What happened to you?" Abrar finally asked, now that he was sure that he's not imagining things.
Haya stopped at once, with a stunned face. She just had to embarrass herself. Unable to meet his curious gaze, she bit her lips thinking of ways to escape this crazy situation. Keeping a straight face, she whispers, "did you hear anyone? No, I didn't." With that being said, she sprinted out of there leaving behind a very puzzled Abrar.
'What just happened?' Abrar asked himself as he watched her leave the room. He was upset throughout the day. It happens every year, but this year he was upset over something entirely different thing.
He did regret wasting her cake like that and was willing to do anything to make her accept his apology. But the problem was, she's not willing to listen; whenever he approached her, she just runs. He gave up at last and decided to just take a small nap to clear his stupid mind and then thought to kidnap her or something if she's still unwilling to talk.

He has been sleeping for an hour now. It was still 2:10, so he had some time after all. With a sigh, he walked downstairs. And was surprised when he saw Iflan, his cousin, in the living room, gossiping with all the ladies in the Haveli.
"Look, Abrar is here too. Let's ask him if he wants to join us?" Iflan asked as he wriggled his eyebrows. Abrar stared back at him half curious and half confused.
"Iflan, he's not allowed to go outside forget it." Bi jaan told sternly. Iflan chuckled at that and continued, "okay then ladies. What are we waiting for? Get in the car. We should leave soon."
"Yes. Yes. I have a lot to buy. Let's go." Meruza chirped excitedly as she got up from the sofa. Abrar stared at them all in confusion as everyone else stood up too.

"One second... Where are you all going?" Abrar stopped them all, Iflan gave him a grin as he replied, "I am taking them all to shop, do you have any problem?"
"But why?"
"Should we have a reason to shop or what?" Meruza butted in as she gave a pointed look to Abrar. Still mad at him for what he did to Haya.
"I- What about me? I'll be alone here." The ladies couldn't help but laugh at that, except for Bano of course.
"I feel sorry though. But I promised to my sweetheart that I'll buy her something." Iflan side hugged bi jaan, making her smile with a wave of her hands.
"You guys can leave. But Haya is staying." Abrar said and everyone from laughing, as they stared at him blankly, including Haya herself.
Truth to be told, Haya had no wish of going anywhere at all. It was because of Meruza that she has even agreed to go. But now that Abrar didn't want her to go, she definitely was going.
"No. I'm also coming bi jaan," Haya announced stubbornly, Abrar has seen it coming anyway, so he remained calm and composed. He simply eyed his bi jaan pleading her to help him, who subtly nods her head.
"Haya beta... I guess Abrar is right, we shouldn't leave him alone in the house. What if he goes anywhere or something? Please stay at home and take care of him." Bi jaan said helplessly as she glared at her grandson, who beamed at her.
"Bi jaan, Abrar is not a baby," Meruza whined but stopped once Iflan nudged her silently.
Haya nodded her head out of respect and walked upstairs, half sadly and half happily. Sad because she'd be bored until they come back and happy because she didn't really feel like going anywhere.
Soon enough everyone left and it was only Abrar in the living room.
With a sigh he walked upstairs, hoping to make Haya listen to him at any cost.

Haya knew that she wouldn't get another chance like this, where she can do whatever she wanted and Abrar will simply watch her do it. So, she was making the most of it by doing all of those things which she was not allowed previously.
"This place is unsafe, Haya." Abrar followed her behind as they came to the haveli's backyard where there was a lake. Haya did not understand what was unsafe about this beautiful place. She was strictly not allowed there. But that was not the case today.
"Haya! I know I did a mistake; I am sorry. Look at me at least." Abrar pleaded as he joined her on the land, where she sat on the grass whilst dipping her legs in the lake water.
She turned her head dramatically, continuing to ignore him. Abrar sighed inwardly. Remind him to never mess up with her again.
"Yell at me or something, at least then you'd be happy?" Abrar muttered hopelessly.
Haya behaved as if she did not listen to him as she picked a stone and threw it in the water.
"Haya..." Abrar tried again, but having enough of him she stood up to leave, but Abrar was quick enough to get hold of her.
"Now enough of this. Just listen to me alright." Abrar muttered to her in his most intimidating voice as he stared into her hazel eyes, she stared back at him furiously.
The height difference made her look absolutely cute though. She looked so tiny in front of him.
"What is your problem, Abrar Shah?" Haya tried to escape from his grip as he held her shoulders tightly. He chuckled dryly at her, "now you're talking to me, huh?"
"Leave me..." she hissed at him but he twisted her right hand and brought her closer to him.
"Now I will talk and you will listen. No running away." Abrar stated as his charcoal eyes stared into her mesmerizing hazel eyes.
"You're going to say that you're sorry and that you've gone mad yesterday. Nahi chaiye mujhe thumhari sorry." Haya whisper yelled at him, it bothered her that they were so close like this. She could literally feel his hot breath on her face. Why was his closeness affecting her so much?
(I don't want your sorry)
"I had a twin brother named Ayaan Shah." Haya's face paled as soon as he said those words. He what? Was he serious...? Never in a million years did she imagine herself in that type of situation.
"Three years ago, he died on the same day. On our birthday." Abrar's voice cracked as he confessed the truth. It never once occurred to him that he should have shared this matter with Haya too. If he would have done, then it wouldn't have gone this far.
"You- I- Abrar... I'm sorry." Haya replied softly, feeling like a complete fool for doing whatever she did. Abrar composed himself with a shake of his head.
"It wasn't your fault. I should have told you earlier." Abrar sighed as he loosened his grip on her. She stood there rooted to her place with a whirlwind of emotions going inside her mind.
"You should have."
"I'm sorry for wasting your cake like that. I just got so mad because... honestly I've forgotten that it was our birthday and then from nowhere you woke me up in the middle of the night to celebrate that day which I've been wanting to forget for so long." Abrar paused as he heaved a huge sigh.
"I'm so sorry. I feel so terrible right now. I'm really sorry, Abrar." Haya cried as she started to remember her own parents' death. She wondered how bad it must have been for Abrar to lose that one person with whom he has spent almost all of his life right from his birth.
It all started making sense to her. Why Abrar was so upset over his birthday and why even the family became so sad at the mention of his birthday. Maybe that was the reason why Iflan came home today, to cheer everyone up. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Haya couldn't go but now she was glad that she didn't.
"I will forgive you... but only if you agree to forgive me too." Abrar smiled dryly, relieved at the fact that the misunderstanding was finally over. Haya nodded her head with a sad smile.
"I forgive you."
"I forgive you too." Abrar tucked her chocolate brown hair behind her ears, as he lazily stared at her beautiful face.
"But promise me something... You wouldn't hide such things from me again. How would I know that you had a twin and that he died? How was it my fault?" Haya glared at him; he chose not to answer it.
"Promise me?" Haya showed her palms to him, Abrar rolled his eyes as he promised her.
"I promise that I'll never hide anything again. But why aren't you wearing your dupatta properly... Can I know the reason, my begham Sahiba?" Abrar smirked.
"Well... I was angry." Haya trailed off but paused abruptly as she felt him taking out her pink dupatta in his hand and wrapped it on her head properly.
Haya could only give him a blank stare.
"Remember this always, Haya... Don't ever do this again. Your head should always be covered outside of our bedroom." Haya nodded her head as she gazed down at the grass, feeling slightly intimidated by his intense gaze.
Their house was filled with security guards 24/7 and he doesn't like the idea of a na-mehram staring at his wife in that state, and Haya was getting used to that habit slowly.
"I don't know why did you agree to marry me, Haya. But I will be honest with you, I married you only because of bi jaan and did not like you at all and wanted nothing to do with you." Abrar admitted out of the blue. She frowned at him confusedly.
"Why are you saying this now?" Haya wondered loudly.
"Because now I genuinely want to give this marriage a chance. I'm sorry for being such a jerk in the beginning, I couldn't get myself to accept this relationship. But now I do." Haya's legs became numb after hearing his words. Did he just say that aloud so randomly?
"I really do. Stop staring at me like that." Abrar chuckled.
"It's so out of the blue. Let me just process it. Are you really asking this, I mean sorry and all?" Haya muttered slowly as she felt her heartbeat rising faster than ever.
"I'm genuinely sorry for being a jerk. Will you please forgive me and help me in rectifying my mistakes."
Haya blinked. Feeling overwhelmed.
"How do you want to rectify?" She whispered. He gave her a soft smile and her breath hitched. Was his smile always this breathtaking or was she blind? But he rarely smiled. It was not her fault. Her heart and mind argued within her.
"I want us to give this marriage a chance." He muttered, looking right into her eyes.
"We are already giving this marriage a chance. At least I was giving it a chance. I don't know about you." Haya whispered as she tried hard to fight away that ridiculous smile. She couldn't believe her ears.
First, he apologized and now wants to give their marriage a chance it seems. Was she dreaming? She wasn't sure.
"I want to, now." Haya couldn't help that smile anymore. It was not a dream after all.
"So... Hayat Ali, will you accept me, Abrar Shah, as your husband?" Abrar forwarded his hands again, she slapped his hands playfully, "we are married already."
"Don't be a spoilsport. We are starting it over again. So, tell me, Hayat Ali... do you accept me as your husband, whole heartily?" Haya nodded her head with a chuckle as she held his hands. They felt a wave of current passing through their bodies as their hands came in contact.
"I whole heartily accept you as my husband, Abrar Shah." Abrar smiled at her as he intertwined their fingers together. He liked holding her hands. It was so soft. And fitted with his almost perfectly.
"To the new start..." he muttered softly as he kissed her hands, making Haya's heart flutter. Her cheeks turned into the deepest shade of red at his small gesture. Abrar's charcoal eyes never once left hers.
What in the world just happened?
Haya looked at him in a daze as he held her hands, not speaking anything. Nothing at all. It was completely silent. But their hearts though were beating faster than a marathon. It felt like they'd jump out any moment now.
They continued staring at each other silently. It did not matter to Abrar that she was a city girl, the one who was never his preferable type. And it did not matter to Haya that he's not Farhan, the guy with whom she pictured her whole life. Nothing mattered anymore. They're in a magical bond called nikkah... which they had to accept one day.
Suddenly you just know it's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings. Abrar did exactly that and did not regret it, not even one bit.
