Rori-POV
I laid on my back with my left arm tucked under my head. Sithys' words kept ringing in my ears.
She said that no one, and absolutely no one can use those sahdows. Unless its the cursed luna herself as she is bound to them and they are bound to her. But it made no sence. The cursed luna died hunderds of years ago. They even burned her body as to make sure she had no form left on this earth. So, why?
The office had quited down as soon as sithy finished her theory and after an hour of silence, Alpha light had told everyone to get back to their people and deal with the losses of the attack.
Shadows. I know what i saw. I know that they are real. I have delt with them since that night Adalwolf had rejected me.
After Alpha Light told us to leave, i immideatly came to our room me and locked myself in.
"Are you ever going to tell me why the witch council sent you here instead of a witch that actually uses magic?"
I asked phoebe who laid on her bed with her back facing me.
She sighed after a couple of minutes of silence and turned on her back.
"I had a sister. Twin sister, actually. Her name was sabrina and she wasn't just my twin sister, she was my best friend." Phoebe covered her eyes with her forearm before she continued.
"The Alivins', our blood line has the most powerful witchs known to history. So powerful that an Alvina was always the one that led the witch council...Sabrina and i, we were supposed to be the next leaders of the council but...she gave in to her power. Darkness consumed her and she was forever lost. The last time i saw her she was trying to convince me to turn to black magic. She said that she had found an alpha who was willing to grant her all the power she can ever want in exchange for her service. She did things...awful thkngs to gain more power and it became her distruction."
Phoebe sighed once again after she spoke of her sister.
"What happened to Sabrina?" I couldn't help but be curious.
Phoebe took her forearm off of her eyes and turned to stare at me. Her next words silenced me.
"Alpha Light ripped her throat out."
As soon as she spoke the words, she stood up, put her shoes on and walked out of the room.
I looked back at the cilling and sighed myself. This is not what i expected when phoebe told me that she was invited to silver fang pack.
I closed my eyes and tried to let sleep calm me but for some reason, my lioness kept stirring in my chest in the most uncomfortable way possible.
"Settle down, will you." I growled at her but only made her worse. She suddenly pearked up her ears and became highly alert.
"What..."
I didn't get to finish my words when i opemed my eyes only to see a shadow looming over me. My first instics was to scream. But, the shadow some how muffled my voice as if it was holding its hand over my mouth.
In an instant, i was up on the air with my hands and legs secured. The room window was open and i was thrown right out of it.
Screaming wasn't a choice and neither was shifting. So i tired to fight my way out of its death grip. But it didn't work.
The shadow suddenly became two and i was left with a final surprise element i would never use without supervision or my arrows.
I looked up at the night sky as i alowed my fear to take control over me and i felt cold both inside and out.
As soon as i called forth of the magic my lioness possessed, the wind around up started to pick up.
The once warm night air was now colder than the touch of winter. It started to blow circles around the figures that were carring me and just as they were moving closer to the woods, the wind tore like a tornado straight towards us and the shadows were blown away from me.
I sturggled to breath as the wind constantly circled around me and it got tighter by the minute.
No matter how hard it was getting for me to breath, i still let my power flow full charge and the wind picked up more volume that it started to draw some attention.
I can see glimps of three wolves rushing over to me and the shadows, but the wind was keeping them from getting closer so i tried to calm my heart and control the cold fear that running up and down my body.
As soon was the wind lessens, the shadow slammed into me and i crahsed on the ground with a gasp.
"Let me shift..." my lioness roared inside my head but i held her down. The shadow were on me once again but this time, i had my voice and i used it to my advantage.
My screams caught more attention and the wolves jumped on me, knocking me to the ground once again.
I heard a crack and from the pain that was shooting from my side, i knew i broke a rib or two.
The shadows turned their attention to the wolves that were advancing towards us and made their attack. Everything happened so fast and three wolves were on the ground, lifless.
I scrumbled to my feet and ran the other direction only to be stopped by a shadow. It raised a fist high in the air and stricked me right across the face.
To say that i saw stars was an understatment. Even all those years of serving as a human punching bag didn't prepare me for this.
I groaned as i tried to sit up only to be slammed back down again. The air is knocked out of my lungs as another punch landed on my face. Eventhough this creatures are supposed to be formless, they seem to know their way around on using whatever force they have on their display to cause pain.
When the third punch lands, my vision darkened for a few seconds.
I tired to make sence of where i am or what i'm supposed to do but the ringing in my ear stopped me from coming up with a plan.
I was about to give up but my lioness had enough. Just as i felt my fnangs elongate, fire bursted from above my head and i had to close my eyes from the sudden light.
I have been familiar with fire for a while now but this fire looked different.
It was angry flames that looked like it could melt the world with a single lick. More fire burned above my head to the point where i was scared the flames would claim me too.
After a couple of seconds, the burning warmth of the flames disappeared and i looked up to see all the shadows turned to nothing but ash.
"Hey..." i heard a muffled voice growl at me and i tried to shake my head to clear my vision and hearing.
"Hey...You okay?" The voice growled again and i turned around to see him, the stranger kneeling besides me.
He cupped my cheek with his right hand and used his left to wipe blood from my face. His warm palm pressed against my forehead to stop the gush from bleeding but stopped when my beast healed me faster than she had ever did.
All my wounds from the beating started to close and the stranger followed the movemt of my skin as it healed itself.
The stranger slowly traced his finger over my forehead and frowned. I reached up my finger to touch my healed forehead only to find a scar.
There it is again. Any wound that this shadows inflict seems to heal but leave a mark.
Footsteps ecoed around us as Alpha Light came running from the direction of the main pack house followed by her beta/gamma and Mr. Beam.
"What the hell is going on?"
***
I was still shaking as Alpha Light called for an emergency meeting in her office. I had a blanket around my shoulder that gave me no warmth or comfort.
I sighed as i looked over the office. Most of the aphas and lunas had taken their people and left after the attack during Alpha Lights' daughters' birthday.
All that were left were the Beam acadmy and the rage wolf pack. The stranger from earlier was also called to attend the meeting after what had happened tonight.
Turns out, i wasn't the only one who was dragged out of bed by the shadows. Alpha Light, Mr. Beam and the stranger had all experienced the same fate as me.
Mr. Beam was too heavy for the shadows to just carry out through the window and Alpha Light had her people to help her out. Goddess knows how the stranger saved himself but he was also dragged out of his asighed bed and had came across me as i was lossing my battle.
"What's your name?" Alpha light asked the stranger and he just looked at her with a bored expression painted on his face. His long brown hair fell over his shoulder and his rough feature made him look like a barberic savage.
"Diago." His answered as he leaned back his chair with his arms crossed over his chest. For a guy who was locked in the doungen just until the attack, he looked pretty comfortable with his captors.
"Diago." Alpha Light called out "are you willing to tell us what you are?"
The stranger, well, Diago just stared at her and she sighed.
"From what i have learned, the...shadows were only attacking the four of us. They were dragging us to the wood and were pretty determined to keep us alive..."
Alpha light rubbed her forhead and sighed again. She looked so exhusted that i was consurned she would passout any minute.
"Maybe it's time to consider what Sithy said." Asher commented. "I'm not sure if i'm right and i hate to make assumption but...if what she said is true and this shadows are connected to the cursed luna, then we must be alert. This shadows, it doesn't matter what their purpose is but what matter is that they want four of you."
Asher pointed at Alpha light, Mr. Beam, Diago and me. "For what ever reason is that they need you, right now they have easy access to you. Keeping the four of you at the same place is too dangerous. We need to split you guys, make it harder for them to get to you. It will guie us enough time to understand them. I'll do my research but you four, need to be as far away from eachother as possible."
His plan made sence as everyone nodded their heads.
"I'm not going anywhere. This is my pack so its obvious this corner of the world is taken." Alpha light commented. "Mr. Beam should go back to his academy. Its pretty far away and well protected, so we've got the wolf and the bear down. What about this two?" Alpha light pointed at Diago and me.
It seems neither of us were willing to share our secrets. Its obvious that Diago is a shifter while they are not sure about me. My reputation as a wolf-less she wolf had served me well.
"We'll take Rori." This came from Adlawolf and i turned to glare at him.
"Excuse me?" I stared to argue but Brandon cuts me off.
"Phoebe's coming with us too." He spoke from behind his hood but phoebe and i are already shaking our heads.
"No need..." phoebe started but to only be interupted just like me.
"If you think for a second that i would let my mate risk her life in those woods then you are mistaken." Brandon spoke and phoebe instantly blushed, like literally turned into a tomato and her heart picked up so fast that it was drumming through the entire room. Every single shifter in this office heard her heart beat and chuckled.
Phoebe averted her eyes away from Brandon and cleared her throat. "Rori...i'm not going anywhere without Rori and she's not going to go to your pack. There is no way i'm leaving her..."
I turned to look at her and for the first time in four years, i wanted to smack her across the face for putting her safty in my hands.
"Are you kidding me?" I asked and she turned to look a me.
"I mean it, Rori. I'm not going anywhere without you."
"So it's settled. Rori will come with us." Said Adalwolf and i blazed in anger.
"Absolutly not." I growled at him and i reminded myself to keep my lioness in check. Even if she liked the idea of going back home, she is still sticking by me like an actualy family does.
"This is not up for discussion..." Adlawolf growled back but i interupted him.
"Up for discussion, my ass. I am never going back to that pack." I pushed out of my chair and knocked it back as i dropped the blacket from my shoulders and rushed out of the office.
No one could stop me as i made my way out of the pack house and went behind it. Even though it was still night and i just survived those creatures, i couldn't help but walk into the woods behind ths main packhouse.
Not caring if i got lost, i moved deeper until i came across a beautiful waterfall. The sight was breath taking. A sigh escaped my lips as i dropped myself on the ground and looked at the magical water fall. It is a feast for the eye.
"Not so wise of you to come here." I heard a voice and turned around to see Alpha Light standing there with her hands tucked in her packet.
"I'm not going with them to that pack." I mummbled and Alpha Light chuckled before moving next to me to sit.
"And why is that?" She asked. I ran my ringers through my blond hair before looking back at the waterfall.
"Just a long history." I commented before sighing. I glance at alpha light and remembered what phoebe told me.
"Is it true that the alpha adalwolf tried to kill you and you ran way?" Her question made me frown.
"No." I answered "is it true you killed phoebes' sister?" I asked and Alpha Light turned to look at me.
"Yes." She answered without hesitatating. "I was wondering why the witch council sent me the sister of a witch who tired to distroy my pack and my people. But Phoebe Alvina is different. I'v noticed she doesn't even use magic anymore."
"I'm causing a lot of trouble, aren't i?" I asked.
Alpha Light sighed. "There is a pack up north. The blood moon pack, the Alpha is a good friend of mine and I was hopping to send Diago there. But maybe we could make a swap. Send you to blood moon and Diago to Rage wolf. What do you say?"
